The one where 2 didn't make the cut...

So if you have been following me on Instagram (shame on you if you haven't haha), you would know that we recently went for our first fitting at TheWeddingBrocade. I must say, the feeling was more intense than the first time round when we came over to Katt's place when we were signing for our package. I actually stood in front of TWB's collection in awe. Okay, here's why:

Katt has every colour/shade you can think of. This is, IMO, a complete collection. TWB has tons of white, for those who think white is their colour. Plus I think the demand comes from white being associated with wedding (or nikah, for us).

The first one that caught my eye was a black toga dress because toga was my initial choice for the last outfit.. but the one Katt has is too revealing (I can imagine the makciks who are not kamchengho with me will start bitching about me there and then. Yes, I can choose not to invite but I don't have to say about my parents' guest list). I could wear a corset though, but we were thinking a bit more traditional for our second outfit because 1) I think Baobei has always wanted that & he did mention he always imagined a royal kind of gold on his wedding but Kak Moi did before 2) Saya nak pakai sanggul lintang saya!

The second one, come let me show you since I didn't pick it anyway (hehe)

I LIKE IT TOO!

You have no idea how much!!! About 89% of my heart just wanted this so badly. I love the beading work and don't be fooled by the tail of this badass. It is super heavy so please just imagine the work done from the top to the tail. Please, please now imagine with the sanggul lintang. Lawa kan? I thought so too. Almost didn't want to get out of this one. Was twirling and loving every moment of it.

I was asking Katt how come I have never seen like 70% of her dresses on @theweddingbrocade. Apparently, when one BTB see another bride wears a particular dress, she tends to pick that dress. Making the rest of the collection invalid. Thus, a cycle. Brides want to wear what other brides have worn.

So anyway, I almost set my heart (and soul) with the mint green when Katt asked me to pick this dress that has never worn by any bride before because they can't pull it off. If I picked that dress, I would be the first bride who will wear that dress. Sounds like fate + a dress customised just for me. (Actually Katt had a maroon songket that she has not made it yet but if we wanted, she would 'customise' to our size but it was a bit dull in contrast with our night backdrop by the beach)

Anyway, tried that dress and settle. That will be it. Okay, to make it less 'secretive' here's a hint:

Please remember that we aren't that typical couple which means, we can be mismatched and this hint may not even be helpful since Katt told me that ever since brides keep reusing the same dresses like a vicious cycle, she has stopped posting up dresses but just make up. But you will get the full update once the wedding day is over (since we have 5 days before flying off for our honeymoon).

Anyway, all of us in TWB studio thinks that Baobei looks good in tanjak. I was telling him to switch all his snapbacks for tanjaks from now on. He was so adorable trying to put on the tanjak, maklumlah first time. But it was so nice to see him getting all involved in our fitting.

I will speak about my bouquet another time because my package with TWB includes a bouquet. Just found out that the bouquets come from Cherriesmitten. Since I am so not a flower kind of girl so my plan is minimal. Kalau ikutkan hati, memang da lama angkat kasut. Hahaha. So the bouquet post will contain inspirations leading up to the actual bouquet.

As you all know that we have 3 pairs of baju for our wedding day:
  • Nikah (white & gold): Picked by us, tailored in JB.
  • Sanding 1 (surprise!): TWB, the traditional outfit. Tanjak+ keris+ sanggul lintang.
  • Sanding 2 aka Project Sanding 3 as this is the 3rd outfit (white & black): The DIY outfit by me + Baobei in number 1 uniform.

But you know what is amazing about Katt? She will be doing my make-up for nikah + provide me with the selendang AND will do my hair do/ touch up my make up for my Sanding 2 + accessories (if I need) with NO EXTRA CHARGE. Even though I didn't take up my nikah outfit + sanding 2 outfit with them. How amazing is that? I am truly touched by small little things because initially I thought I needed to hire a MUA for my last outfit but it turns out that Katt will do it FOC. I am not encouraging you to do so because doing your own outfit can be seriously tedious and stressful when trying to picture the whole thing put together. Furthermore, if you ever have a chance to step into their studio, you will know how talented Katt's mind is.

So yes, TWB has exceeded my expectations and I am super glad that I picked them. I will like to thank 2 people. One was the person on my IG who liked their picture back in 2013. The other is the bride who gave up her place for my date. Thanks to you, I managed to secure TWB. For the latter, I do hope it's because you're changing date and not for other not great reasons.

Anyway, we are scheduled for our last fitting next month.

We are still in our Korean phase so daebak! Me thinks Korea will be one of the places in our list to travel since Baobei has been speaking of it non-stop. 2016, maybe. Since 2015 is filled up.

Project Sanding 3 will resume once exams are over. But here's a sneak.

Meanwhile, not sure why the post of TKKTKCseries is still trending, but hello. It has been a year since I post that but I think anniversary lah. So Happy Anniversary to my TKKKTKCseries. You have spoken about things, people didn't want to speak. You have also put narrow-minded people back in their place. Most importantly, I have met a lot of people thanks to you. Oh, please don't propose/suggest we date because I am going to be married soon. At least, read me first lah.

xo.
